Decorative storage or display. Made in 1989, this little basket is hand-made, using what appears to be different colors of pine straw, that is woven into a beautiful swirl pattern.  The style indicates it may possibly be made by the Papago Tribe.  The lid fits snuggly and it is overall very well made.  Looks pretty on a shelf or table, or it can be a decorative piece used for small item storage.
