During the 1960’s here in Florida, I am sure that there was a virtual sea of these, and other similar hats, adorning the bobbing heads of sun-seeking tourists! This one in particular, has an Asian flair in the shape of the hat itself, and a very kitschy floral design made of raffia, knotted into loops which were then cut to resemble flower petals. The flowers remind me of chrysanthemums. Some of the flowers are a natural light raffia in color, the others have been dyed a bright, festive orange, that I can only imagine as an ode to Florida! Made by “It’s a Buddy Of Florida”, this vintage sunhat simply could not be any more fun!
*The chin strap was added at some point in the life journey of this adorable hat, but it can be easily removed.
This hat is in excellent for it’s age, vintage condition!!
